How Havn.ai works

Five steps, and only two of them are yours. The loop is the same whether you have three documents or three hundred.

  1. 1. Start a claim

Address, date of loss, carrier, and what happened — a two-tier picker that asks for the cause (water, weather, fire and smoke, theft or vandalism, something else) and then narrows it with a plain-language example on every option, because the difference between “burst pipe” and “rising water” is the difference between covered and not.

Signing in is an emailed one-time code. There's no password to invent at the worst moment to be inventing one, and more than one claim can run side by side without mixing up.

  2. 2. Upload the mess

Drag a folder onto the web app, or shoot receipts with the phone camera. Policy PDFs, photos of paperwork, screenshots of emails, contractor estimates, the letter that arrived this morning. Nothing needs sorting first — that's the job you're handing over.

Uploads queue and survive a lost connection: a file that fails on the parking-lot Wi-Fi waits and resumes when you're back on a network.

  3. 3. The AI reads and files

Each document goes through OCR, gets classified, and has its fields extracted against a schema for its type — a receipt gives up a vendor, date and total; a declarations page gives up your four coverage limits and deductible; an estimate gives up its line items, room by room.

Then it's linked: the receipt becomes an expense, the policy becomes your coverage card, the letter becomes a dated timeline event, the estimate joins the comparison matrix. Progress shows per document, so a 40-page policy doesn't look stalled.

  4. 4. You confirm what it found

This is the part that makes the rest trustworthy. Every extracted figure is shown with the document it came from. Anything the model wasn't confident about is flagged for review instead of being quietly believed, and an unconfirmed figure never moves a total.

The same rule governs the assistant: ask a question and it answers from your documents with citations you can tap, or it says it doesn't see that in them. It will not invent a policy term to fill a gap.

  5. 5. Hand over the report

One tap builds the PDF packet: coverage snapshot, expense ledger with missing receipts flagged, estimate comparison, contents inventory, timeline, document index. Pick the sections you want, attach the receipt files as a zip, export the expenses as CSV — then email it yourself to your adjuster, your public adjuster, or your attorney.

See it on your phone

A real claim, from the shoebox of paperwork to the report your adjuster asks for.

Every claim in its own place

Water, theft, fire — each claim keeps its own documents, expenses, and timeline, so nothing gets mixed up.

Know where your claim stands

Deductible, loss-of-use spend, money received and still owed, and what to do next — read from your own policy and receipts, on one screen.

Upload the mess, get it organized

Policies, receipts, adjuster letters, damage photos. Havn.ai reads each one and sorts it into the right part of your claim.

Don't leave money behind

Hotels, meals, mileage — every displacement cost tracked against your loss-of-use limit, with missing receipts flagged before you hand the ledger over.

Value what you lost

Photograph a damaged room and Havn.ai suggests the belongings to claim — you confirm each one, then it looks up replacement prices for a room-by-room contents inventory.

Easy on the eyes, at 2am

Full dark mode on every screen, in English and Spanish — because claim paperwork rarely happens at a reasonable hour.

Screens from the beta. Details shown are sample data.

What it will never do

Worth being explicit about, because plenty of claim tools are vague here.

  • It does not file, submit, or schedule anything with your insurer. You send what you send.
  • It does not negotiate, appeal, or draft legal arguments. That is a licensed public adjuster's or an attorney's work.
  • It does not tell you what your claim is worth or promise an outcome.
  • It does not invent policy language. If your documents don't say it, the answer is that they don't say it.

This is general information, not legal or insurance advice. Every policy is different, and only your own policy and your state's rules decide your claim. For advice, talk to your adjuster, a licensed public adjuster, or an attorney.

Put this into practice

Havn.ai does the organizing for you: upload your policy, receipts, estimates and letters, and it reads them into an organized claim and a report you can hand to your adjuster. Free to start, in your browser.
